Friday night, I had the opportunity to witness the Elsik High School boys’ soccer team compete at the state semi-finals. Congratulations to Coach Cox and the team on their success. We should all be Alief proud of their resilience, focus, and tenacity. I look forward to watching them compete for the state championship this Saturday at 6:30 pm in Georgetown, Texas. I hope everyone in Alief that can travel to support them will come out and cheer them on to victory!

Thank you to our enrollment and PreK team for their efforts to enroll our community in our early learning opportunities. Mrs. Mari Martinez, Early Childhood Coordinator, and Mrs. Mindy Robertson, Director of Student Services, we appreciate you organizing this opportunity for our community and students. We know that these early learning opportunities pay significant dividends for students in their later years as students! In the upcoming weeks, the team will make even more efforts to reach more families here in Alief. Please encourage your eligible neighbors to take advantage of our early learning centers and what they provide!

“Let’s Make It Clear” Backpack Policy

In an effort to improve the safety measures currently in place, beginning with the 2025-2026 school year and beyond, Alief ISD will require all intermediate, middle, and high school students to use clear backpacks.

Students participating in an extracurricular activity are permitted to carry non-transparent bags to store items pertaining to their particular activity (i.e., band, athletics, etc.).

All extracurricular activity bags must be stored in designated areas upon entry into the school and are subject to search.

Additionally, the maximum size for non-transparent bags that students in intermediate, middle, and high school will be permitted to carry during the school day, such as lunch kits, pencil bags, and purses, will be “6 x 9”.

Elementary school students will be allowed to continue using traditional backpacks.
