Last week, while visiting classrooms, the excitement was contagious. There was a buzz as students were engaged in learning, and teachers were enthusiastically teaching. Every day in Alief ISD offers a great chance for students to move closer to their goals of becoming tomorrow’s leaders. Those small steps happen right here in Alief ISD. Each day, our goal as educators is to help students reach their dreams by providing instruction that encourages them to Think IT, Write IT, Talk IT, and Prove IT. As I have led community meetings across Alief ISD, I am also asking parents to encourage students to Think IT, Write IT, Talk IT, and Prove IT even at home!
The mental and physical well-being of our faculty and staff is essential as they are charged with caring for our students every day. With that being said, our Human Resources team is working to offer a Staff Intramural Pickleball league. Click here to complete a form to share your interest. This will be a fun way to engage with other team members, while getting a bit of exercise!
I am excited about this year! I am excited to “Be all in with Alief ISD”!

“Let’s Make It Clear” Backpack Policy
In an effort to improve the safety measures currently in place, beginning with the 2025-2026 school year and beyond, Alief ISD will require all intermediate, middle, and high school students to use clear backpacks.
Students participating in an extracurricular activity are permitted to carry non-transparent bags to store items pertaining to their particular activity (i.e., band, athletics, etc.).
All extracurricular activity bags must be stored in designated areas upon entry into the school and are subject to search.
Additionally, the maximum size for non-transparent bags that students in intermediate, middle, and high school will be permitted to carry during the school day, such as lunch kits, pencil bags, and purses, will be “6 x 9”.
Elementary school students will be allowed to continue using traditional backpacks.
