Alief Family YMCA of Greater Houston
Purpose of Project: To continue to fund our Girl Power Teen Program that was 100% subsidized by the IMD gift last year. Our goal for this year would be to expand the program to support more teen girls and add components that would be beneficial based on our learnings this first year of delivery.
Girl Power is a project aimed at empowering teenage girls through mentoring and structured group sessions. The overall project objective is to use positive youth development to improve participants’ commitment to education, and reduce delinquent behaviors such as teen pregnancy.
