On Saturday April 12, 2014, the International District hosted our second annual Kite Festival at Alief Nature Center. This year, 250 kites were passed out thanks to our sponsor, Alief Majority Investment Group LLC. Our Kite festival had 450 people attended the event. There were 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place trophies given throughout the day to largest kite, smallest kite, most unique kite, highest kite, and most colorful kite. The festival was held from 10am-2pm with lots of entertainment and kid friendly activities. We would like to thank our local partners: Alief Super Neighborhood, Texans Together, and the YMCA for making our Second Annual Kite Festival a huge success. We look forward to growing our festival every year and can’t wait for 2015.
